Damp, cracking, condensation, mould, cold bridging, water ingress and failed detailing — investigated properly and reported with the reasoning shown.
Most damp problems are diagnosed by whoever is selling the cure. An independent inspection starts from the building: how it was constructed, where the detail fails, what the moisture pattern actually indicates, and which of the possible causes the evidence supports.
Condensation, penetrating damp, rising damp, plumbing leaks and construction moisture all look similar to the naked eye and lead to completely different, and differently priced, remedies.
A firm that inspects and also carries out the remedial work has an interest in what the report says. An installer photographing his own work only ever photographs what suits him. This practice has no installation arm and no remedial supply chain, so there is nothing to upsell and no stake in the outcome. The finding is the product.
Where specialist testing or opening up is the honest next step, the report says so rather than guessing.
